where to investInvestment: in-VEST-muh nt

  1. The investing of money or capital in order to gain profitable returns, as interest, income or appreciation in value.
  2. A devoting, using, or giving of time, talent, emotional energy, etc. as for a purpose or to achieve something.

In my early twenties, I knew God was calling me to be a communicator through speaking and writing. So why did it take 25 years to make it happen?

There are obvious excuses and legitimate reasons like children, work, and keeping up with the hubby and home.

I would get excited about an upcoming conference but shoot the idea down with five words—How much does it cost?

We worked hard to put food on the table,  gas in the car, celebrate holidays, take occasional weekend trips and invest in our 401K. The idea of paying for something extra like a speaker conference seemed impossible.

It just cost too much.

Days evolved into years. Opportunities passed by like fireflies on a hot summer night.   My dream would come alive and light up but soon disappear when I looked at the checkbook. My dream kept slipping through my fingers!

Then, things changed. No, we didn’t win the lottery! It’s hard to win without a ticket.

Actually, by simply changing my thinking, the odds of success were better than winning the lottery.

I began seeing the conferences as investments.  Would my dream of being a christian communicator through speaking and writing come true if I invested time and resources into it?

Could I achieve my dream quicker and save time by learning from experts?

Would I receive a profitable return on my investment by becoming a paid speaker? Sure, the income would be great! Plus,  I’d have more time and freedom to spend with my family! That to me—is a great return on my investment.

However, the greatest return is witnessing God at work changing lives. Whether changing one’s eternal destiny or giving hope and healing, it’s not just the best investment to make—it’s always a blessed investment!

No regrets!

Maybe the only real cost is in—doing nothing.

Be Blessed,

Lori Boruff

P.S.  Ask God to show you if  CCC Tahoe 2017 is the conference for you.  I attended in 2015 when it seemed impossible to me, but not to God.  July 1st is the last day to register for beautiful Lake Tahoe. We have a few spots open—is one of them for you?
