Pictures! Pictures!

Pictures show only part of the story!

Women encouraging women is the heart of the CCC Advance Retreat. Even the beautiful trees at the Pleasant Ridge Retreat Center in South Carolina encouraged us with a fashion show of color.

Seeing the CC-sisters in groups of two or three in deep conversations or over computers teaching one another was a delight. I don’t know why I didn’t take more pictures of women teaching women in personal moments. But those sights are captured here in my heart.  Often observing scenes like this was similar to being mom witnessing the kids taking care of one another unselfishly with kindheartedness overflowing. I imagine God was pleased with what He saw too.

Women flew in or drove in from California, Louisiana, Texas, the Carolinas, and other northern states. Many of them were tired, over worked, burned out and wondering why they signed up for three days to be with strangers from other CCC classes. But, rekindling and renewing began the moment they walked into the lodge plus no one seemed to be a stranger because of the Christian Communicator connection. Weariness showed in the fact that the first WOO didn’t take place until the next day. Not all legs were lifted in the first WOO; however the last WOO was a joyful noise to the retreat staff who fed us so well and made us comfy in private lodges.

All four of the CC-sisters’ teaching sessions brought new insights and discoveries for our ministries. From personal styling to self-defense experts and from publishing choices to e-marketing specialists’ experiences and skills were shared for the business side of adding to our work. Nevertheless, the spiritual and fellowship periods must have been when God saw snap shot moments He will treasure.

As you look at these pictures, I hope you see a friend’s face too. If you haven’t been to a Christian Communicators Conference or an Advance Conference, I pray someday you’ll be in our sisterhood album of pictures and encouraging fellowship events.

May our Lord Jesus Christ Himself and God our Father, who loved us and by His grace gave us eternal encouragement and good hope, encourage your hearts and strengthen you in every good deed and word.
