This time last year, I was invited to be the speaker at a Christmas Gatherings tea party. The setting was held in the host’s living room with her Christmas tree blinking a friendly welcome. Her dining table was filled with seasonal goodies and pretty paper products. There was soft caroling music warming the rooms with great cheer. The host’s neighbors started pouring in right on time. Their smiles were even brighter than the tree’s. Their chatter was warmer than the music while their greetings to one another were sweeter than any of the goodies on the table.
I was delighted to be part of the party. That day I met a whole neighborhood of ladies who lived across town. Almost a third of them had left work early to join in the community celebration. Christmas time is a good time to connect with those close to us.
Founder and National Director, Joyce Bademan of Christmas Gatherings has created a simple way to have a holiday party for neighbors, co-workers, family and friends that highlights Christ in Christmas. Her website at http://christmasgatherings.com/ gives step-by-step details on hosting a party with ease by using seasonal goodies home-made or store bought. Also on her site, Ms. Bademan has a guideline for a well-prepared talk for the speaker that clearly includes the gospel in a non-threating manner. This website is a worthy read for all Christian speakers to check out.
For a seasoned speaker like me, I found following the format for Christmas Gatherings a delight and a joy. This tea time party was a life changing experience for some at the party. Two guests invited Christ into their hearts and one guest rededicated her life to the Lord. It was a real birthday celebration party.
This year or next year, I hope you will consider partnering as a speaker with a friend to host a Christmas Gatherings tea/coffee party. It’s a delightful time to connect with new people and it gives them an opportunity to see you as a polished speaker. You may be blessed with a future booking.

The angel said to them, ‘Do not be afrraid. I bring you good news of great joy that will be for all the people. Today in the town of David a Savior has been born to you; He is Christ the Lord.’ ~ Luke 2:10-11
